In order to cut down on our water consumption, we’ve completely eliminated water polishing, an industry standard. All of our products are dry polished, saving more than 600 gallons of water per average project! First of all, we acknowledge that there is no totally harmless, perfectly “green” material. Every act of human production drains the earth in some way. But we believe concrete to be the least harmful option for interior and exterior living environments. A vanguard artisan studio specializing in custom concrete surfaces and interiors. Countertops, sinks, furniture, architectural elements – all handcrafted using pioneering eco-friendly techniques. Artistic innovations for a livable planet. Leading the concrete revolution, at the forefront of environmentally responsible design. No plastics, no chemical finishes, no heavy-metal pigments. Reclaimed and non-toxic materials. Pieces infused with nature’s patterns and idiosyncrasies. Design that recognizes that nature is the canvas and the palette, not just the easel. OUR COMMITMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT We pledge, not only to do everything within our means to run an environmentally responsible design studio, but to constantly expand those means, continually redefining what it means to be “green.” We pledge never to be complacent, never to settle, but to always question ourself, to experiment, to find new ways of creating, to consistently break new ground in eco-friendly techniques. Besides maximizing the green qualities of concrete, We strive to make all our materials and processes as environmentally friendly as possible. Using water-based sealers, so the countertops and sinks don’t become sources of VOC pollution in your home or business. We use pigments that are free of heavy metals. Recycled materials and industrial byproducts to work, using fly ash, for example, to cut down on our need for new materials and to reduce the portland content of our pieces. These innovations not only utilize materials that would otherwise end up in landfills, but also greatly diminish the CO2 generated during the production of portland cement.
